Introducing GEOCHANG YUGI, the unique technology that has been going on for near 100 years since 1924.

GEOCHANG YUGI was founded in 1924 by the first Kim Seoki and began its history in 1935 when Lee Hyeonho entered as a disciple. However, during the Japanese occupation, Japan banned the production of traditional YUGI products. Even at this time, Kim Seoki, who did not let go of his hands, was imprisoned after liberation and unable to work due to the aftereffects of imprisonment. Thus, GEOCHANG YUGI has continued its history of about 100 years, succeeding the 3rd generation Lee Gihong and the 4th generation Lee Hyuk.

The best Bangjja YUGI is a bronze ware that is mixed with copper and tin in the best ratio of ‘78:22’ and heated once in a furnace at 1500 degrees(C) and again in a crucible at 1200 degrees(C). The production of Bangjja YUGIi, which is beaten with a hammer and stretched to shape, is the most difficult and is considered the best among them. Based on the aesthetic philosophy of GEOCHANG YUGI, They are making works with all their heart and soul, not products produced in a factory.

Awarded Korea Craft Fair Presidential Award(2003) and 4th Lee Hyuk Designated as a Korean YUGI master(2020) officially proves that GEOCHANG YUGI is Korea's representative YUGI brand.

Step1. 10 Min. in vinegar water: Upon receipt, put product in vinegar water (warm water:vinegar=20:1) for 10-20 min. Clean the products. This will form an anodic film, which helps maintain a long-lasting YUGI color.

Step2. Scrub with general detergent: Please do not use an iron scrubber, because it may damage the YUGI

Step3. Water stains: After washing, wipe the moisture off with a dry cloth to completely dry the bronze ware before storage

Step4. Long-term storage: when you do not plan to use the YUGI for a long time, remove the moisture and store it with wrapping it in plastic wrap or newspapers.
