Sum Side Dish Bowl
Works created through endless research, reproduction, and reinterpretation
Beautiful tenacity of an artist obsessed only with the work of the potter's wheel
From prehistoric pottery to Joseon Dynasty white porcelain, Park Kiyong, who constantly repeats the process of observing, researching, reproducing, and reinterpreting, is only obsessed with making white porcelain with a potter's wheel.
Products made with the potter's wheel have different emotions every time they are made, so even the same product is slightly different. Meet the results of the artist who has worked hard to express the beauty of the form. The breath that the artist spits out while turning the wheel.
“My works are bowls with a modern interpretation, such as making the edges a bit thinner while maintaining the feel of old white porcelain. My teacher Lee Seyong always said, “The more you make, the better your work becomes.” I spend my time constantly spinning the wheel, throwing away what to throw away, and taking what needs to be taken, looking for better works. I spend most of my day with the spinning wheel.”
