[SOUL EDITION] Kim Byoelhee Soban set

Gonggosang is a soban(소반, tray) that carries food when dining outdoors or in government offices. Kim Byeolhee recreated a small-sized Gongosang using ceramics to be used as a dessert plate or a beautiful object. When you with this Konggosang and teacups set, Korean sensibility and comfort will accompany your tea time.

Kim Byeolhee proposes a new value by using the characteristics of pottery with ‘traditional objects’ that are losing their usefulness. She mainly produces tea tools with the theme of 'Soban'. Most of the sobans we can come across are from the 'Joseon Dynasty', and because of the characteristics of wooden furniture that rots and breaks over time, it is difficult to come across sobans older than this. Therefore, the soban, which has these disadvantages, was implemented with ceramics to compensate for the material limitations that are vulnerable to water and heat.

She tried to achieve harmony between tradition and modernity by exploring the characteristics and shapes of soban and combining them with modern usage.
